Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf Wins Finance Team of the Year Title at the Legal Business Awards 2012

(LONDON, 10 February, 2012) – Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf has been selected as the Finance Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2012. The firm’s Banking & Institutional Finance team was selected for the award for its representation of Spartan Capital Holdings on the PLN 18.1 billion (approximately €4.4 billion) LBO of Polkomtel in June 2011.

The transaction stood out as Europe’s largest LBO in three years, Poland’s largest ever LBO, one of the largest in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the largest in the European telecom sector.

Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf’s London and Warsaw Banking & Institutional Finance teams advised on the €3.6 billion debt financing package and the refinancing of the bridge loans through offerings of approximately US$1.1 billion of subordinated high yield notes and US$200 million of ‘pay-in-kind’, or PIK, notes.

The team was led by partners Amanda Jennings, Bruce Johnston and Frank Adams in London and Spartan Capital Holdings relationship partner Jarosław Grzesiak and partner Andrzej Wysokiński in Warsaw, working alongside an M&A team based in both offices.

The Polkomtel LBO was also selected as one of the top three Deals of the Year and the CEE Deal of the Year in Euroweek’s 2011 Syndicated loans and leveraged finance awards.
