Albany

An important part of Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf’s history lies in Albany. The city was the site of the founding of one of the firm’s predecessors, LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP, which was formed in 1929. As the capital of the state of New York, the city provided a logical base from which the firm could service clients in regulated industries, particularly the energy and utility fields.

Our practice expanded quickly and the firm’s headquarters moved to New York City the following year. In 1982, we returned to Albany, opening an office in the capital to serve clients whose businesses are significantly affected by New York State governmental actions.

Our Albany lawyers serve clients in regulated industries, particularly energy, utilities and insurance, as well as others who benefit from our knowledge of and close proximity to New York State’s decision makers. In addition, the practice includes substantial civil and administrative litigation and telecommunications work. Our litigators regularly advise on environmental, land use and project development matters; intellectual property; energy and utilities; employment and discrimination; toxic torts; and product liability. In the telecommunications sector, we represent clients in policymaking and ratemaking proceedings, as well as assisting with regulatory and corporate issues, including strategic planning, financings and restructurings.

The Albany office was ranked as a “Band 1 Energy Law Firm in Upstate New York” for the third year in a row (2005-2007) by the Chambers USA Guide to Leading Law Firms.
