Johannesburg
The Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf Johannesburg office was established in November 2000. Named "Africa Law Firm of the Year" in 2005 and shortlisted in 2007 by Chambers and Partners, it handles a broad range of transactional, government advisory and dispute resolution matters across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The office is staffed by a team of internationally and locally qualified lawyers. Many of our projects and transactions have an international dimension, and our team offers the requisite skills and resources needed to meet our clients' needs. Whilst Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf in Johannesburg enjoys a strong reputation in both international and domestic arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution, it does not, for regulatory reasons, handle domestic litigation matters before the South Africa courts.
The Johannesburg team has advised on matters in the infrastructure, mining, power, telecommunications, energy, privatization, commerce and tax sectors. Our lawyers have worked with private and public clients, including local and international banks; agencies of the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, US Exim Bank and the African Development Bank; South African parastatals; and various national and provincial South African administrations.
