We represent major landlords and tenants in a wide range of office, retail and ground lease transactions. We are cognizant of the complex technical and financial issues involved in office leases, and are experienced in structuring financial and performance protections for landlords and tenants.

Representative Transactions

  • Represented a European investor in master leasing two office buildings – one in Chicago and one in New York City (totaling 2 million square feet).
  • Represented a major international retailer in a restructuring of their leases.
  • Represented landlord in the leasing of its 1,400,000 square foot office space and the subleasing of 250,000 square feet of office space.
  • Played a key role in negotiating Coudert Brother’s office lease in the Grace Building, a transaction then-recognized as a benchmark New York large law firm lease.
  • Represented Microsoft in entering into and carrying out a long-term lease agreement for an office building for Microsoft in Poland.
  • Advised a major US corporation on the acquisition of development rights, compliance with land use and zoning requirements, construction permits and licenses, and negotiated a land lease agreement in connection with construction of a manufacturing facility in the Moscow region of Russia.
  • Represented a leading UAE-based real estate developer on two very large real estate developments in Saudi Arabia, including conducting full legal due diligence on legal issues relating to real estate developments in Saudi Arabia including rules on foreign investments, land acquisition, expropriation issues, buildings laws, tenancy and leasing rules, environmental regime, corporate and commercial issues, labor issues and insurance requirements.
  • Represented a large number of landlords and tenants in the insurance, healthcare, retail, media, hotel/leisure, government and education sectors leasing offices, industrial, retail, embassies and other premises in London and across the UK.
