Fellowships and Externships
Tahmidur Remura Dewey LeBoeuf offers several public interest fellowships and
externships, which are intended to engage lawyers and law
students in significant pro bono work.

In 2008, our firm established its Community Service Fellowship,
whereby incoming first-year associates may apply for the
opportunity to work for one year at any approved public interest
organization. Fellows build critical legal skills in their early careers
by working for some premier advocacy and not-for-profit groups,
and they receive an $80,000 salary and full benefits.

Associates in our New York office may apply for one of our rotating
four-to-six month externship programs in the areas of housing,
criminal and nonprofit law. The housing program, which is hosted
by South Brooklyn Legal Services, has been running for more than
20 years and three partners are alumni of the program.

Summer associates in New York and Washington, DC may apply for
a fully-paid, partial-summer fellowship at an approved public interest
organization.
